My trusty laptop that I've had for ~8 years and which really kickstarted my author journey has, unfortunately, carked it. It's done very well for itself, really. Pictured here is my new baby...and I'm going to have to get used to the glossy, reflective screen! 😂

I am so thrilled to share my first-ever piece of character artwork! A massive thank you to the incredible @sophielouisedraws for bringing my boy to life. 🥰

If you're a fan of tortured, ice-cold MMCs...you won't find that here. Sorry/not sorry.

Asa is a kind and gentle soul who is committed to his calling as a healer. Though he wishes he wasn't quite so shy, he's happy with what he has and who he is...until he awakens a terrifying power that changes the course of his life. And the world.

You'll get to meet him in book 1, "Blood of Old", in (hopefully) 2026! 😀

O is for the Old Blood! 👇

For my first post in 2025 about the A to Z of worldbuilding elements in the #GracebornSeries, I thought I'd define a concept that is key to the series.

The Old Blood (which is the namesake for book 1, funnily enough) refers to the blood of the people who remained in Corraidhin, the Hallowed Land, following the Exodus. They retained some of their longevity as a result of this.

The descendants of these people can now be found in the Valley of Levand, and in the Siredh people of Crainn Mor, who were sent there at the behest of the Protector of Corraidhin.

I find fantasy concepts linked to blood(lines) fascinating, so of course I had to include one in my series! 😀

I've just had a great long weekend with two doggos, sleeping in, going for walks, and chilling on the couch. Pretty much none of my writing goals were achieved, but oh well. Violet and I are sad to see Willow go this evening!

What's on the cards for you in 2025?

I'm excited to build on my successes of the last 12 months and have set myself some pretty ambitious writing goals for my epic fantasy series. But why not?!

I'd also like to keep up the habit of reading. It's not going well so far, and I blame Wind and Truth for ruining me for any other book. 😅
